Tips and Advice on How to Keep Romance Alive

A Review of the Book The Vision by Debi Pearl

Debi Pearl is already well known for her child training books such as To Train Up a Child, co-authored with her husband, Michael. Her most controversial work to date is Created to Be His Helpmeet, a book in obvious contrast to the feminist agenda for the home and family. Not afraid to confront controversial issues, Debi boldly proclaimed God’s design for married woman. This generated predictable controversy.

Now Debi has taken up her pen (or computer) once again in writing the first of a series of well-researched fiction stories. The setting of the story is obviously taken from their own rural Tennessee location and centers on the distribution of her husband’s book Good and Evil. This is a chronological Bible in pictures, containing a clear Gospel message. This is a visualized chronological Bible, a Bible story book with a message. The present goal is to translate Good and Evil into 100 different languages and 25 are either finished or nearly finished.

The Vision may well stir as much controversy as her marriage book. Muslim extremists are plotting to stop the printing and distribution of the illustrated storybook to the Muslim community. Ashur, undaunted by the murder of his mentor, determines to carry on his work to get the Gospel to the Arabic speaking people. He moves to Tennessee where the storybook is published, an obvious reference to No Greater Joy’s printing and book distribution work.

Debi includes in her novel healthy herbal remedies and cures that she has learned over the years. In the story, a White Supremacist group plots to channel funds from a secret herbal brew that are used for book distribution, to their own causes.

Next Ashur learns of a major fault extending through Yellowstone Park. This threatens to virtually destroy the country with lava and ash if it gives way.

The publishing center becomes a haven, not only for Asher, but also Magdalene, a woman who ‘accidentally’ ends up in the community and experiences the healing love of Christ from other women. The enemies move closer to their own goals as the Last Publishers continue with their vision, to reach Muslims with the Gospel through the illustrated book.

The author’s summary of the book concludes, “But at the most unexpected moment it seems that the terrorists win. Is it over? Is God in control?” Though some conflicts are resolved before it is over, others are not as this is the first in a series of books.

The Vision by Debi Pearl will provide the reader with challenge, inspiration, information, and excitement. It may be more prophetic than we would like to believe.
